Daryron Vera. Principal

Cuba

 


He started his training at the Vocational Arts School "Alfonso Perez Isaac" in Matanzas, Cuba in 1996. In 2001 he continued his formation at the La Habana National School of Ballet (Cuba). This year he won the Bronze Medal at the Ballet Students International Competition in La Habana. In 2003 he was awarded with the Silver Medal in the same Completion.

After graduating as professional ballet dancer and teacher in 2004, he joined The National Ballet of Cuba the Artistic and Technical Direction of Alicia Alonso. He has been coached by: Josefina Méndez, Loipa Araujo, Aurora Bosch, María Elena Llorente, Ramona de Saa, Rosa Elena Alvarez, Marta Iris Fernández, Svetlana Ballester, between others.

His repertoire includes the highest romantic-classical traditional pieces, as well as cotemporaneous ballets: "Giselle" (Friends of Giselle, version by Alicia Alonso); "Don Quixote" (Torero, Sword, Don Quixote, version by Alicia Alonso); "Swan Lake " (Pas de Six, Von Rothbart, version by Alicia Alonso); "Shakespeare y his Masks or Romeo and Juliet", (Mercuccio, Teobaldo and Shakespeare, version by Alicia Alonso); "Prologue for a Tragedy" (Othello - Yago work version); "White and Black" (Soloist Couple, choreography by José Pares); "Le Corsarie" (Pas de Deux); "Don Quixote" (Pas de Deux); "Punto de Encuentro", Choreography by Jorge Amarante, Choreography Iberoamerican Concourse, 2004, Soloist Couple; "Symphony for nine men", (Choreography by James Kelly); "Studio for 4" (Choreography by Iván Tenorio, Soloist Couple); "Las Sylphies" (Choreography by Mijaíl Fokin); "Viva Lorca" (Fragment, with Josefina Méndez); "Il Ballo della Regina" (Balanchine); "The Nutcracker" (The Snow Pas de Deux, Spanish Dance); "Una rosa, una rosa", (Choreography by de Ramón Oller); "Bach x 11", (Choreography by José Pares) or "La Fille Mal Gardeé" (Collin).

In 2007 he was promoted to Soloist and in 2009 to Principal Dancer. Tours with the National Ballet of Cuba around Mexico, Spain; England; Tunisia, Brazil, Argentina, Guatemala, Egypt, France, Canada and Venezuela.

In 2010 he danced with the Victor Ullate Ballet, later he joined the Corella Ballet. His repertoire with the company includes: "DGV"; Sigfrid in "Swan Lake"; Main Couple in "Clear"; Principal in"Raymonda's Suite"; Main Couple in "String Sextet" ; Henry VIII in "VIII"; Third Sailor in "Fancy Free", Blue Couple in "Bruch Violín Concerto"; Stomper in "In the Upper Room" and "For 4".
